1929 Popeye the Juggler, Tin Litho Dexterity Toy

1929 Popeye the Juggler, Tin Litho Dexterity Toy

Terrific, early Popeye tin litho dexterity toy. Called Popeye the Juggler, the objective is to get the five steel balls into the four embossed holes. To complete the game the fifth ball must be caught into Popeye's wooden pipe bowl.

The face of the toy with Popeye, Wimpy, and Olive is all tin litho. It has a red cardboard back. It's set into an embossed steel frame, painted green. The front is covered with a glass pane which is clamped under the steel. It's marked with the King Features logo, a 1929 patent date, and "Made In U.S.A.". The actual manufacturer is unknown. A great pre-plastic toy!
